1/6 plate tintype of an older woman. This rather ordinary image becomes wonderfully interesting when you examine the case. The sitter identified and there are notes-- perhaps instructions. for a copy portrait.

There are three small spots on the image where the emulsion appears to have stuck to the cover glass (it is matted above the glass).
The mat and preserver are in good shape. The full case is split and damaged on the pinch pad side.
