Right: large, bevel cut cabochon of old stock offers genuine Apache Gold. It measures 1.875 inches tall, 1.25 inches at the bottom widest, with a smooth dome top.

‘ Apache Gold does not contain any real gold. the silverish-gold color is Chalcopyrite (common name Pyrite) in a black Schist and is found in an mine in Jerome, Arizona. The two colors make this a very striking cabochon. '
