Luther was a theologian and author of the Reformation from which the Evangelical Faith emerged.

Since the coin is tarnished, I assume that at least a high proportion of silver is present.

On the edge you can read "a solid castle offers is our God". This is a hymn whose text was probably written by Martin Luther before 1529. The song is of great symbolic power for Protestantism.
