Primitive 7 prong eel offers spear from Prince Edward Island

This primitive eel spear was found in an old barn on offers Prince Edward Island close to a fishing community. Eel fishing was very prolific back in the 1800s to feed islanders.
This primitive spear would be an incredible display piece on a wall. This type of spear would have been used at low tide in the mud flats - you can see that there is still some dried red mud encased within the wire.
Hand forged piece. Measures 20.5 inches long and the prongs are 10" at their widest.
